Publicity Committee Chair - KATHERINE E. BELL, Civil Engineer & Project Manager :
The Publicity Chair will work with the committee volunteers to ensure success of the various elements of publicity. This volunteer will act as a default point of contact (for Coalition Chairs, etc.) regarding publicity concerns, and will lead the scheduling/coordinating of publicity items. The PC Chair will also generally fill the role of empty committee positions and/or perform the duties of other positions when other volunteers are not available. The person is this position is responsible for leading the development of an action plan for the committee.
Task Force Secretary - OPEN POSITION!!! : The Task Force secretary is responsible for taking minutes at Task Force meetings and ensuring that the minutes are distributed and publicized appropriately. Meeting minutes should be provided to the Publicity Committee Chair (in finished form) within one week after Task Force meetings.
Webmaster - OPEN POSITION!!! : The 4CRTF Webmaster is responsible for maintaining the 4CRTF website so that it continues to be a valuable resource for Task Force membership. He/she will:
· Work with the Coalition Chairs to determine what content should be included on the site
· Update navigation elements of the website as new pages are developed
The Webmaster does not need to know HMTL or other scripting languages. Experience with website creation sites (i.e., weebly, wordpress, wetpaint) is helpful, but not required. The Webmaster will work with the 4CRTF Photo Coordinator and Calendar Coordinator to ensure the website photo and calendar pages, respectively, are kept up to date.
Photo Coordinator - OPEN POSITION!!! : The volunteer in this position will work closely with the Coalition Chairs and the webmaster to post photography from various Task Force events/activities on the 4CRTF website. He/she will generally:
· Receive photos from Coalition Chairs by email
· Create a new webpage for each new event for which photos will be posted
· Post new photos to website and add a link on the home page under “news”
· Keep the “Photos” page (listing “photo albums”) current
Calendar Coordinator - OPEN POSITION!!! : The Calendar Coordinator will update the 4CRTF Google Calendar to reflect the latest events and activities in and around the Fourth Plain Corridor. He/she will use the news on the City’s Office of Neighborhoods webpages to keep posted of activities of the Corridor’s Neighborhood Associations and other groups within the corridor, and then post these activities/events on the calendar. The Calendar Coordinator will also work with the Coalition Chairs to determine Coalition events/activities that should be included on the calendar.
Newsletter Coordinator - OPEN POSITION!!! : This volunteer will lead the creation of the 4CRTF quarterly newsletter. He/she will:
· Work with the Coalition Chairs to determine appropriate articles for each newsletter.
· Solicit written articles from Task Force members
· Coordinate review of the articles (for content/grammar errors) by the Task Force Leadership
· Format the newsletter
· Coordinate printing via the City
· Coordinate distribution of newsletter at meetings
· Coordinate distribution of newsletter to businesses, in part via business visits by Corridor Ambassadors.
· Work with the Webmaster to coordinate posting of newsletter on website
Experience with Microsoft Publisher is helpful but not required.
Press Release Coordinator - ANNA HARSHFIELD, Marketing Coordinator (North Star Restaurants) :
This volunteer will contact various news outlets, as needed, to request publicizing of Corridor events/activities. The Press Release Coordinator will:
· Work with the Coalition Chairs to determine which events/activities warrant a press release.
· Prepare press releases using given form and information given from event coordinators
· Distribute written press release to various news outlets
· Facilitate answering any questions from news outlets
Contact List Coordinator - OPEN POSITION!!! : The volunteer in this position will maintain the Task Force contact list. The Contact List Coordinator will:
· Receive contact updates via email from various task Task Force members
· Update “Master Contact List” with new information
· Notify Task Force Leadership of contact updates
· Research “Email errors” when emails “bounce back” – try to locate new contact information
E-Blast Coordinator - OPEN POSITION!!! : The volunteer in this position will prepare “E-Blasts” to send to the Task Force contact list. He/she will receive an e-blast request (using a standard form) from various Task Force members. The e-blast request will include all information necessary to form an update.
Corridor Ambassadors & Related Positions:
Corridor Ambassador Coordinator - KAREEN MILLS, Insurance Agency (State Farm Insurance) : This volunteer will:
· Identify and mobilize the Task Force Corridor Ambassadors
· Work with the Business Coalition Lead to organize and direct Corridor Ambassador activities
· Work with Publicity Chair and other relevant Publicity Committee volunteers to address committee needs
· Assign various corridor businesses to Corridor Ambassadors and develop strategic plan for establishing relationships between Corridor Ambassadors and Corridor Businesses
Business Directory Coordinator - OPEN POSITION!!! : This volunteer will:
· Collect business surveys from Corridor Ambassadors and update Business Directory accordingly
· Work with Business Coalition Lead to create a Business Directory that serves as a resource for the Corridor residents and businesses
· Optimize the format of the Business Directory
· Work with Publicity Committee Chair and Webmaster to keep website Business Directory current
Corridor Ambassadors - OPEN POSITIONS!!! : The Task Force Corridor Ambassadors will:
· Build relationships with Business owners and employees by acting as a point of contact for their assigned businesses
· Disseminate news associated with Task Force and Business Coalition activities and decisions
· Visit businesses in area of responsibility on a quarterly basis (within one week of newsletter distribution)
· Identify business issues and facilitate resolution with Task Force
· Facilitate the use of the Task Force resources by the Corridor businesses
· Facilitate cross-cultural internships with Clark College and Vancouver Public Schools students
· Coordinate distribution of newsletter to businesses, in part via business visits by Corridor Ambassadors.
