Lots of Love in collaboration with Friends of the Trees, Americans Building Community and 4th Plain Corridor Task Force, will be planting 18-20 fruit and nut trees at the Rose Village Gateway Pilot site at 39th & P Street in Vancouver, WA on Saturday March 6, 2010 beginning at 9am. The trees are being donated by Friends of the Trees and will facilitate a source of street trees bearing fruit to serve the neighborhood surrounding the 39th & P site. Please wear your boots, bring gloves and a shovel if you have them.Join us to volunteer, learn more about planting fruit trees in your area, and see how this grass roots effort has created a neighborhood garden site ready to be planted with a vegetable garden in addition to the trees being planted. For those of you interested in growing a vegetable garden here, plots are available at this site. For more information, contact Toree Hiebert at [email protected] or Patti Maggiora at [email protected].
